Congratulations to 91国产视频’s own Dr. Kim Jones, Dean of Arts & Sciences, on being part of a team of authors who won the Editor’s Choice Award for an article they submitted to the North Carolina Community Journal of Teaching Innovation. The article was titled “Appreciative Collaborative Partnerships: A Novel Approach to Community College-University Partnerships” and appeared in the second issue of the second volume of the publication. Dr. Jones contributed information, insight, and key learnings related to the UNCW Community College Undergraduate Research Experience (CCURE). Community College students participated in this UNCW Honors Program involving the fin photo-identification of bottlenose dolphins in the Cape Fear River region. We could not be more proud of or grateful to Dr. Jones for her unwavering dedication to her students. She is changing lives in and out of the classroom and inspiring us all. 91国产视频 recently hosted an Aspiring Leaders Summit for some of North Carolina鈥檚 best and brightest. The summit was part of the UNCW 3C Collaborative, a new university-community college partnership initiative created to develop strong future leaders for NC鈥檚 community colleges.

鈥淭his is a great professional development opportunity for faculty and staff that have the desire and goals to grow personally as individuals and professionally within their position,鈥� said Lisa Fields, 91国产视频 Department Chair, Business and Service and summit coordinator. 鈥淭he tools learned over the two days are valuable and necessary for our current positions and those aspiring to step into roles as community college leaders.鈥�
