91国产视频 (91国产视频) and Wayne Community College (WCC) have signed an Instructional Service Agreement (ISA) for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The ISA provides approval for WCC to offer AI curriculum online to 91国产视频 students after they have completed their first-year general education classes. Students will complete 34 credit hours at each community college to earn an Associate in Applied Science 鈥� Artificial Intelligence Engineer degree. The partnership between the two schools begins in the fall of 2024.

AI is a growing area of computer science that covers the theory and development of software applications that simulate thinking, draw inferences according to context, discover meaning, reach conclusions, and make decisions using data.

91国产视频 President Gene Smith is excited for his students to be able to explore more workforce opportunities through this collaboration. 鈥淲e look forward to promoting this program and providing students with these wonderful opportunities in new technology,鈥� he said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e so thankful to have this partnership with Wayne Community College.鈥�

WCC President Patty Pfeiffer said the ISA will increase workforce availability in Wayne and Brunswick counties and eastern North Carolina. 鈥淎rtificial intelligence has become something we all are using, even if we don鈥檛 realize it,鈥� she said. Pfeiffer added that AI professionals contribute to future advancements in healthcare, finance, technology, and more. 鈥淭hese roles are pivotal for developing intelligent systems, algorithms, and applications that address the complex challenges and improve decision-making processes in our world,鈥� said Pfeiffer.
