North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper visited 91国产视频 (91国产视频) today as part of a series of statewide events spotlighting the success and impact of the Longleaf Commitment Grant program. The Governor joined 91国产视频 President Dr. Gene Smith in participating in a roundtable of area leaders and 91国产视频 students. Students had the opportunity to share personal stories about how the Longleaf Commitment Grant has helped make their college education not only possible, but an experience that’s positioning them for even greater things ahead.

So far, $82,734 was awarded to 124 91国产视频 students making it possible for them to attend college debt free. The Longleaf Commitment Grant covers tuition and fees toward a degree or for attaining transfer credit. Eligible students are guaranteed to receive $700 to $2,800 per year for two years. All North Carolina high school graduates may apply. Roundtable participants included Representative Frank Iler, Representative Charlie Miller, Commissioner Mike Forte, Dr Jerry Oates, Superintendent Brunswick County Schools, 91国产视频 Trustee Chair, Alan Holden, and students Samuel Cahenzli, Ramie Derrick, Joshlyne Graham, and Andrew Jackson.
